Electric Buses on Streets to Counter Pollution and Cut Costs

Highlighting a milestone in sustainable public transportation, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has kicked off its transition to electric buses. This step harmonizes with the growing global push towards greener, more cost-effective transport solutions.

APSRTC’s electric buses outshine their traditional diesel counterparts in multiple ways. Most notably, they emit zero tailpipe pollutants, providing much-needed relief for air quality and significantly cutting down greenhouse gas emissions.

On the financial front, these electric buses bring an attractive proposition. Despite their higher upfront costs compared to diesel buses, their lower operating and maintenance costs over the lifespan make them a cost-effective choice.

Powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries, these buses offer an impressive distance coverage on a single charge. APSRTC has installed charging stations at key points along the bus routes, ensuring uninterrupted operations. This innovative move guarantees the continuity of efficient public service while leaning towards more sustainable practices
