The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced a significant alteration in the route of Volvo buses traveling from Shimla to New Delhi. The buses will no longer pass through Pinjore, Kalka, and Parwanoo, as revealed by HRTC officials on Tuesday. This decision stems from the corporation’s responsiveness to the concerns voiced by commuters who have consistently faced delays ranging from one to two hours due to traffic congestion in these regions.

The Managing Director of HRTC, Rohan Chand Thakur, highlighted the corporation’s commitment to addressing passenger feedback. Thakur explained, “Feedback from commuters has informed us that Volvo buses, while traversing Kalka, Pinjore, and Parwanoo, frequently encounter traffic jams, resulting in substantial delays. In response to passengers’ insistence on an alternative route, we have decided to redirect Volvo buses through the Parwanoo-Kalka-Pinjore bypass.”

This strategic shift has been initiated with the primary objective of enhancing the overall commuting experience for passengers. By opting for this modified route, individuals traveling in Volvo buses are expected to save approximately two hours in reaching their destination, New Delhi. This time-saving aspect is particularly significant as it enables passengers to seamlessly connect with metro services and flights in Delhi, bypassing the notorious traffic congestion issues in the city.
