Karnataka: The Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) are set to introduce approximately 485 new buses within the next three to four months. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy made this announcement while addressing a gathering after distributing appointment orders to 1,600 drivers and driver-cum-conductors of KKRTC on Tuesday. He emphasized that the number of female passengers travelling on State-run buses has seen an increase following the implementation of the Shakti Scheme. Mr. Reddy highlighted that 165 crore women have already benefited from the scheme, with around 1.10 lakh of them traveling daily. He reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to acquiring additional buses to further benefit female passengers.
