Trichy: The Kumbakonam division of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) is taking proactive measures to cater to the heightened demand during the weekend spanning from September 23 to 25. A total of 250 special bus services are being put into operation to address this surge in demand. Notably, approximately 100 buses will be in service from Trichy. In contrast, the remaining buses will be strategically deployed across various regional towns and cities, encompassing prominent locations such as Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, and Mayiladuthurai.
TNSTC officials have outlined a specific allocation plan for these special buses, indicating that of the 100 buses stationed in Trichy, dedicated routes will connect to Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, and Velankanni. Additionally, in an effort to facilitate connectivity beyond the confines of the Kumbakonam division, 150 special buses have been designated to link key destinations such as Karaikudi, Madurai, and Coimbatore with towns and cities in the vicinity.
In anticipation of a surge in demand for buses heading towards Chennai between September 24 and 26, TNSTC has taken proactive measures by allocating 150 special buses to operate specifically from Trichy and other strategic towns and cities within the region to Chennai. Moreover, to enhance intra-divisional connectivity, TNSTC has allocated 100 special buses to Mofussil routes linking vital cities within the division, such as Velankanni, Kumbakonam, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, and Mayiladuthurai. These special services will be in operation on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, optimizing travel options for the public during these crucial days.
The State Express Transport Corporation (SETC), under the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), is launching specialized bus services to facilitate pilgrims attending the Tirumala Brahmotsavam festival by connecting Tirupati with Trichy, Thanjavur, and Kumbakonam. This strategic initiative is designed to accommodate the heightened demand during this auspicious time, particularly in the Tamil month of Purattasi, which is known for its significance in visiting Vishnu shrines.
SETC, a subsidiary of TNSTC, has organized three ultra-deluxe buses from Trichy and one each from Thanjavur and Kumbakonam to serve this purpose. Regarding fares, the journey from Trichy to Tirupati is priced at 477 rupees, while the fares for the route from Thanjavur and Kumbakonam stand at 487 and 442 rupees respectively. This carefully crafted plan aims to ensure smooth travel and spiritual experiences for devotees en route to Tirupati, enhancing their festival pilgrimage.
