LUCKNOW: On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) implemented an immediate 10 percent reduction in the fares of Rajdhani Express buses. This reduction aligns the Rajdhani Express bus fares with the standard rates of the corporation’s general buses. The aim behind this decision is to enhance passenger convenience during the festive periods of Diwali and Dussehra.
Post the fare adjustment, travelers aboard the Rajdhani Express buses will experience a decrease of Rs 13 for every 100 km traveled. Notably, the revised fares for certain routes have been amended: for instance, the Lucknow to Delhi route will now cost Rs 739 instead of the previous Rs 832. Similarly, the fares from Lucknow to Ballia and Gorakhpur will be Rs 623 and Rs 460 respectively, down from Rs 685 and Rs 506.
Introduced in March by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Rajdhani buses serve as a special category within the general fleet. These buses offer distinct features including scheduled operations and limited stoppages. They maintain a specific timetable, arriving at Lucknow from district headquarters before 9:30 am and departing from Lucknow to various destinations at 5 pm.
