MUMBAI: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has introduced a convenient and modern digital payment system for its passengers, allowing them to pay for their bus tickets through a new UPI payment method. Passengers can now make their journey ticket payments directly to MSRTC’s bank account via their mobile phones, eliminating the need for physical currency. This significant development comes as the state bus corporation partners with Airtel payment banks to facilitate UPI payments.
To streamline this process, conductors on MSRTC buses have been equipped with Android electronic ticket issuing machines. These machines generate a QR code that passengers can easily scan using their UPI app, enabling them to make digital payments seamlessly while onboard the bus.
In addition to this digital payment convenience, MSRTC has also introduced a dedicated helpline to assist passengers in case they encounter any payment errors or face issues with ticket generation from the machine. Passengers can report such concerns by calling 8800688006 from their mobile phones, and this helpline will be accessible 24×7 to ensure passengers receive timely support and assistance throughout their journey. This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing the overall travel experience for MSRTC passengers and promoting the adoption of digital payment methods.
