KSRTC Kerala launches first bus service

Kerala: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) launches its first bus service from Guruvayur to Coimbatore on Tuesday. MLA N.K. Akbar inaugurated the bus, announcing the approval of four new KSRTC bus services. The inaugural bus service to Coimbatore will pass through Kozhikode. Present at the flag-off ceremony were RT Cluster Officer TA Ubaid, AT Asc Cluster Officer KG Sunil, Inspectors AG Sajitha and KA Narayanan, along with Superintendent Rajini.

Minister KB Ganesh Kumar revealed that around 836 KSRTC buses are currently parked in the shed, awaiting deployment, with 80 buses set for immediate activation. Reflecting on his ministerial term in 2001, he recalled a fleet of 600 buses at Kattappuram. The operation of these 836 buses is expected to boost revenue collection. Additionally, Ganesh Kumar announced the commencement of route rationalization for ordinary services in Thiruvananthapuram district by KSRTC.
