Posted on February 18, 2022February 15, 2023 by shraddhanvita tiwari

Most people choose online booking for purchasing their train tickets. The IRCTC next generation e ticket booking website offers an interactive interface that is easy to use. You can quickly browse through available trains and choose the best one. The process is convenient and hassle-free.

What is the IRCTC Next Generation E-Ticketing System?

The IRCTC Next Generation E-Ticketing System is a new website that offers better security and convenient booking. It ensures that your train ticket bookings are authentic and protects all personal information.

Take a look at what the new IRCTC website will offer.

  • Train, Flight and Holiday Package Bookings

IRCTC next generation e ticket booking site has three different sections for trains, flights, and holidays. You can book your transportation or holiday and use the sections to access the bookings, check the schedule, track, make PNR inquiries, and for cancellations. Foreign tourists can also book through these sections. In the holidays section, you can book tourist trains or the lavish Maharaja’s Express to explore different parts of India. You will also be redirected to the IRCTC hotels page to find suitable accommodation.

  • E-Catering

To use the e-catering system, you have to enter your PNR number. Once you do that, IRCTC will show you what food you can get delivered to your berth. Various options are available, from vegetarian meals to biryani, pizza, burgers, and even specific cuisines and thalis. There are a few stations that offer catering services. These include New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), Old Delhi Railway Station (DEL), Mumbai Central (BCT), Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST), Chennai Central (MAS), Lucknow (LKO), Bangalore City Junction (SBC), Varanasi (BSB), Allahabad Junction (ALD), and more.

  • E-Wallet

If you are a frequent passenger, you can use the e-wallet for transactions. You can easily add money to the wallet on the IRCTC site and manage it online. Use this money to pay for tickets or book services via the site.

  • Loyalty

IRCTC offers two unique cards: the IRCTC SBI platinum card and IRCTC UBI prepaid card. You can apply for these exclusive ecards to book tickets and packages at discounted rates. The SBI card has reward points and a free surcharge waiver.

  • Service at Stations

This section offers details on the Wi-Fi service at various stations. Stations of the A1 and A category have free Wi-Fi for passengers. However, recently RailTel has taken the initiative to equip 400 stations across India with high-speed Wi-Fi connections. Apart from the Wi-Fi service, the section will provide information on retiring rooms at different stations. They are available in most railway stations, and you can easily book via the IRCTC Next Generation site.

  • Promotions

The Promotions tab provides information about different aspects and sections of IRCTC. You can find details about the various IRCTC apps like the Air, RailConnect, and Tourism. This is also where you can browse through handicrafts, bags, jewellery, and other souvenirs made by tribal women. The Promotions section will provide you with information on the IRCTC Loyalty cards. You can also learn how to get an SBI platinum card.

Once you sign up IRCTC next generation, you can access every facility or shift your account to the new site.
