Posted on September 11, 2023September 21, 2023 by Parul Jain

About Kerala RTC:

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is a vital component of Kerala’s public transportation system. Established in 1937, it is one of the oldest and most extensive state-run bus services in India. KSRTC plays a crucial role in connecting the various regions of Kerala and providing affordable and efficient transportation options to the people.

KSRTC operates an extensive fleet of buses, including ordinary, express, super express, and deluxe services, catering to diverse passenger needs. These buses connect not only major cities and towns within Kerala but also provide interstate services to neighboring states.

One notable feature of KSRTC is its commitment to passenger safety and comfort. The buses are well-maintained, and the staff is trained to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience. Additionally, Kerala RTC has embraced technology with the introduction of online booking systems and mobile apps, making it easier for passengers to plan their journeys.

KSRTC Kerala also offers various concession schemes, making it accessible to different segments of society, including students, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.

In recent years, the corporation has been working on reducing its carbon footprint by introducing eco-friendly initiatives and incorporating alternative fuels into its fleet. Overall, KSRTC Kerala continues to be a lifeline for the people of Kerala, ensuring reliable and affordable public transportation services across the state.

The Latest Feature of Kerala RTC / KSRTC Kerala

The latest KSRTC booking application enables users to reserve tickets even after the bus has left its starting point. In Kochi, passengers at intermediate stops can now reserve available seats on long-distance buses even after the bus has left its origin. According to officials, the KSRTC booking app, which offers this feature and others, has received a positive response.

Passengers now have multiple convenient options for booking tickets: they can reserve through the counter, use the app, or book directly from the conductor. Moreover, more buses will be accessible online when travelers are in search of tickets.

Previously, the standard practice was to close bookings half an hour prior to departure, and a printed list of bookings was handed to the conductor at the reservation counter. There was no way to determine the number of available seats. Passengers could only board if invited by the conductor. This resulted in significant revenue losses for KSRTC.

Now, tickets can be booked either through the https://onlineksrtcswift.com/ website or the Ente KSRTC Neo OPRS mobile app, effective from Monday onwards. Booking details will be promptly shared with customers via SMS and WhatsApp messages. Thanks to the automatic refund policy, there will be no delay in receiving refunds for canceled tickets as per the guidelines.
